Plan your Canada Day holiday by getting the map out and picking a destination. Thanks to hybrid technology, the new 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid will take you much further for far less money.

Hybrid Savings

Honda upgraded their hybrid system for the 2017 Accord by releasing their second-generation Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) powertrain. This new two-motor hybrid powertrain creates a seamless operating system that is more efficient since it uses a two-engine approach to delivering power.

You decide which driving mode you prefer

EV Drive Mode delivers power straight from the lithium-ion battery and keeps your wheels turning without using a drop of fuel. With straight EV drive, you are on battery power only, and the engine is turned off.

Engine Drive Mode is gas engine power only. It is normally used for highway driving where you maintain a cruising speed.

The Hybrid Drive Mode is the most commonly used driving mode. This type of driving makes the two power sources work together. The engine becomes a generator that recharges the batteries as you go. Regenerative brakes help to recharge the battery every time you push the pedal.

The 2017 Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0 litre, 16-valve i-VTEC® Atkinson DOHC 4-cylinder that can produce 143 horses at 6,200 RPMs. It offers 129 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPMs. Honda paired it with an E-CVT transmission that offers an ECON mode and Eco Assist™ system. Together, the two help you get the most from your fuel. Eco Assist™ offers you a visual aid that shows you when you’re using too much fuel. This allows you to adjust your driving habits and get better results.

The Sport mode makes your ride much more exhilarating by finding the right RPMs for more power and performance.

Go the Distance

The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid not only takes you on long trips, it makes long trips comfortable and entertaining for you, too.

Depending upon the model you choose, you could have a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-wrapped shift knob to hold onto.

If you’re travelling any distance, you’ll like the 10-way adjustable power seat that lets you find the perfect position. Rather than sitting in one spot for hours on end, you can make minor adjustments that relieve tension. In some models, the passenger seat can be adjusted four ways.

Heated seats and dual-zone climate controls keep you and your passenger at the right temperature, even if one of you likes it colder than the other.

Like all Hondas, the Accord Hybrid offers the latest technology when it comes to entertainment and information. Seven speakers allow everyone to enjoy the music coming from the 360-watt audio system.

The Kelley Blue Book gave the Accord Hybrid two awards in 2017. It got the Best Resale Value in the Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car category and the Best Buy for Midsize Car Award.

The Future

Honda is committed to developing and delivering vehicles that are great for the environment, and the Honda Clarity fuel cell vehicle is one more addition to the green stable. Even though this hydrogen-powered sedan has a limited rollout and is currently unavailable in Canada, it is another example of Honda’s focus on making their vehicles more efficient and planet friendly.

There are many features on the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid that we couldn’t list here like all the high-tech safety features, the plush seating and the sporty exterior, so stop by and test drive one today.
