The Honda Canada Foundation today made a donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the Spring Flood Appeal for use during relief and recovery efforts in the Province of Quebec, which has been affected by recent devastating floodwaters. The monies have been allocated to assist the Canadian Red Cross with valuable aid in the area, including providing flood victims with support such as reception and information, registration and family reunification, emotional well-being support, lodging, food, first aid, and providing cots and blankets.
“Honda’s intention is to support the many individuals and families devastated by the recent floods in Quebec, as supporting Canadians in times of need is a key pillar of the Foundation’s mission,” said Dave Jamieson, Chairman of the Honda Canada Foundation. “As we have responded to past natural disasters at home and abroad, supporting the Canadian Red Cross is an effective way to quickly help those affected. Honda encourages all Canadians to donate to the Canadian Red Cross at this time in order to assist the most vulnerable citizens affected by this severe situation.”
The Honda Canada Foundation is committed to giving back to communities across Canada and is involved with several national and local organizations including Earth Rangers, Rick Hansen Foundation, CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish and Make-A-Wish® Canada.
