Introducing the All-New 2023 Honda HR-V
We are excited to share the details of this all-new design of the second-generation HR-V, a stylish and sporty crossover vehicle, designed for your busy and active lifestyle.
This new HR-V features an all-new high-tech interior, a larger more responsive engine coupled to a sophisticated and refined new body design, all in a super-fun-to-drive vehicle.
This new design is more refined and was designed and engineered without compromise. From the all-new clean and efficient exterior design to the clean, high-tech, well-appointed cabin, the 2023 HR-V is ready to fit in to every aspect of your lifestyle.
With the introduction of this all-new design, we are pleased to take you through some of the HR-V’s updated design, suite of available technology, performance capabilities, as well as the multiple safety features of this new vehicle.
The 2023 HR-V models are offered in a total of four available trim levels:
- LX (FWD)
- LX (AWD)
- Sport (AWD)
- EX-L Navi (AWD)
Powering every 2023 model is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine producing 158-horsepower (SAE net @ 6,500 rpm) and 138 lb.-ft. of torque (SAE net @ 4,200 rpm)
A standard continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) on all trim-levels has been reengineered for improved power delivery and driving refinement.
All-New Design for 2023
The All-New HR-V has expressive exterior styling cues in a modern design package. It features a low horizontal beltline that begins with the extended hood and continues over to the swell of the rear fenders. Both sets of headlights and taillights are wide set to provide a muscular and broad-shouldered stance. The overall length of the new vehicle is increased by 221mm, over the previous generation.
In front, an expressive grille is flanked by inlets that route air through the bumper and around the front wheels, helping improve aerodynamic efficiency. For a cleaner upscale look, laser-brazing technology eliminates the need for unsightly roof moldings. The HR-V's windshield wipers hide under the hood line when not in use, providing a nice clean streamlined appearance.
Large 17-inch wheels are standard on all trim-levels, available in several different finishes, depending on specific trim-levels.
Standard on every 2023 HR-V is LED high and low beam headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED brake lights, all designed to provide enhanced visibility, with a modern look.
This all-new design approach is focused on providing aspirational qualities beyond its segment to further appeal to the young active buyer looking for a stylish sporty exterior and a roomy, feature-rich interior.
The extended wheelbase of this new generation HR-V provides a smoother ride while increasing rear seat legroom. The result is one of the largest cargo areas in its class. To increase the athletic stance of the vehicle, Honda’s designers extended its width, as well as the wheelbase. Overall, the new vehicle is wider and longer than its previous generation HR-V
Each HR-V grade features distinct design details. HR-V LX is highlighted by a matte-finish on its honeycomb-style grille, and the lower section of its front and rear bumpers. The 17-inch alloy silver-painted wheels come standard.
HR-V Sport gets more aggressive with a horizontal-themed grille mesh, a gloss-black rear spoiler, and a chrome exhaust finisher. The lower portion of the rear bumper is finished in gunmetal metallic. HR-V Sport wears 17-inch Shark Gray-painted alloy wheels as standard.
For a distinctly upscale character, the HR-V EX-L Navi features a unique gloss-black version of the honeycomb grille, matching gloss black door pillars, and gloss black trim on the front and rear bumpers.
EX-L Navi also rides on standard 17-inch alloy wheels, painted in Shark Gray but with an exclusive machined finish.
The new interior is clean and sporty, a fresh take on Honda’s new "simplicity and something" design direction, first introduced with the 2022 Civic Sedan. Outward visibility is improved thanks to HR-V's low cowl, expansive greenhouse and outside mirrors that have been positioned away from the windshield pillars.
Premium materials are utilized throughout the cabin with close attention being paid to the operation of all switchgear and controls, including the click and heft of knobs, stalks and switches. HR-V's centre console is uniquely curved and richly upholstered with French stitching.
HR-V is available in eight different colours, including an all-new colour, exclusive to the 2023 HR-V: Nordic Forest Pearl.
All in all, the clean, modern and comfortable cabin is a pleasure to spend time in.

HR-V Performance Features
To begin with, the 2023 All-New HR-V is powered by a larger 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine producing 158-horsepower (SAE net @ 6,500 rpm) and 138 lb.-ft. of torque (SAE net @ 4,200 rpm). This engine is standard on all HR-V trim-levels.
The new powerplant is paired to a standard continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). It has been reengineered for improved power delivery, refinement and engine sound. This new transmission also features a more naturally responsive feel thanks to improved G-Design programming and the addition of Honda's "Step-Shift" programming, which simulates gear changes when accelerating at full throttle.
Borrowed from the critically acclaimed steering found on the 2022 Civic, the HR-V features a honed steering column with special tuning to the electronics for improved straight-line stability. New larger brakes increase stopping power, while a low-drag caliper design increases fuel efficiency.
Large 17-inch wheels are standard on all trim-levels, available in several different finishes, depending on specific trim-levels.

The new HR-V features three driving modes: Normal, Eco and the new Snow mode.
Eco mode reduces throttle and transmission sensitivity, as well as air conditioning output to help preserve fuel efficiency.
Snow mode alters the drive ratios and throttle mapping to maximize available traction and performance in slick snowy conditions.
Hill Descent Control makes its first debut in a Honda SUV. This remarkable feature aides in navigating slippery steep declines.
With the simple press of a button on the centre console, drivers can select a speed between 3 and 20 kph by pressing on the brake or gas pedal. Once the pedal is released, the HR-V will maintain that set speed automatically, allowing the driving to concentrate exclusively on steering the vehicle.
