Honda Civic Captures the AJAC Canadian Car of the Year Award for the second consecutive year

• The proudly built in Canada Civic once again takes top honours from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada
• This is Civic’s third Canadian Car of the Year Award in the past five years

Honda Canada is delighted to announce that the 2026 Honda Civic hybrid, sedan and hatchback, Canada’s best-selling car for 26 of the past 28 years, has been named the 2026 Canadian Car of the Year  (CCOTY) by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) for the second consecutive year. This is Civic’s third CCOTY title in the past five years.

Civic defending its title as AJAC Canadian Car of the Year comes on the heels of it winning even more accolades, including a 2026 Car and Driver Editors’ Choice Award  and The Drive Best Value for 2026 Award.

The Civic sedan, both hybrid and gas models and the Civic Si sport compact sedan are proudly built at Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) in Alliston Ontario, all are renowned for their quality, affordability, reliability and fun-to-drive performance.

Civic is Honda’s longest-running automotive nameplate with more than six million built at HCM since 1988. HCM celebrates it’s 40th anniversary of building various Honda and Acura models this year.
